Next Mod..?

Ok so I've got the Garrett turbo kit sittin' at home waitin' to be installed, megan coils on the way, headlights coming in from streetazn, girlfriend is buying me Tenzo R's, done a little interior work but nothing special so what next?

I've been planning to order a MPx 3" cat-back but haven't really gone through with it yet.

I've more about performance than anything else really, so lets here some ideas..

You could always look into a custom exhaust if you want performance/sound, switching between mufflers and resonators and exhaust diameter (just dont buy a "turbo" muffler damn near the most restricting muffler out there)

i'm guessing you're talking about the "turbo" muffler. Its a brand/style that is meant to sound like a turbo (not the blow off exhaust pipe thing) but the problem is it restricts the exhaust like a turbo does.

Click here if you want to learn more about exhaust in general and the turbo muffler

Gen 2 block in 07+ stronger sleeves they dont replace them until you want to break the 400 number.

Heres info from NJHK from ecotecforums

So is the gen 2 head rated at 400 or 450?

They say its fine to 400, but i'd be looking into better head studs and def valve springs if you want to get near 400. Although i'm not sure how the head flows stock near that range, for the 400-600hp build they used a sportsman (GM special head, just street pnp'd basically, and some valve seat work).

How much is 93octane across the pond a liter?

flyy i hope you get this trans. it really does eat the torque up. you could push some serious power through this thing and the lsd is to die for.

Solid idea, I dont know why i over looked that, but I did my breaks before i'm adding more power (going SC hopefully by the end of the summer)

i'm on ebc slotted/dimpled and hawk hps pads. they pull the car back from even the highest speeds. only advice i have is to properly bed the pads and rotors or your brakes will be garbage in a matter of months.

i have a habit of pulsing the brakes when i'm slowing down during normal braking. it keeps the rotors from overheating during most driving conditions. once the brake rotors get too hot they warp when they cool down. repeated overheating and cooling will cause the rotors to warp to the point that your steering wheel will shake during braking.

How about doing all your maintenance and making sure everything is up to par.

On top of that, do a compression test before hand so you know where you are before you turbocharge it.

I would do the brakes sooner than later since you're putting a turbo kit in

i bought R1 slotted premium rotors and posi quiet pads, and really like them, they grab pretty good, and i dont think i'll have any overheat/warping issues since i dont try to see how quickly i can stop all the time. I'd guess (never tested) they def stop you shorter than stock, but again my opinion from inside the car, not actual numbers.

But a lot of the guys on here buy Hawk pads.

PM R1 they're a vendor on here, he'll explain it better and you get a ss.net special price.
