Nitromethane cobalt 2.2l RENTAL!!!

Haha make a long story short me and some buddies rented a cobalt ls for the weekend and were thrashing on it ..... "please dont get mad lol we got the insurance" 1 beer after another concluded the dumb decison to put nitromethane AKA RC car fuel in the rental
let me just say that for the full 10 minutes our 2 gallons of RC fuel lasted that rental would have walked my modded 2.4 with 4 people in it lol
Anyway Cheers Todays My BDAY!!!!

I wonder what that **** could do to a normal engine?

Did you drain the tank first, or add it to the existing fuel?

What percentage nitromethane mixture did you use?

Actually compared to running gasoline, one is supposed to use 8 times as much nitro than gasoline on an identical engine.

Reason is: nitro doesn't need nearly as much air to combust.

I used nitro r/c fuel on my weed wacker lol...... I always thought it would be harmful to a 4 stroke engine tho.... I guess i will have to try it on the lawn mower lol

drained tank as low as i could get it with a hose and strong mouth LMAO I believe there may have been at the most a 1/4 liter of gasoline still in there

we used 20% nitromethane

dunno what it does to the engine but seat of the pants it is amazing its not like nos were you feel this instant surge of power ....it legitmately feels like your in a ss/sc power on demand and very tamed .......LOL Iam seriously considering throwing some of this **** in my 2.4l and hitting up the track to get some times

haha.

It's like a hot prostitute. You wanna hit it, but you're afraid of the consequences.

The only downside i can find about this ****, is that it burns hotter than normal gasoline, which could potentially cause problems.

I'm tempted to try some too

Problem 1 = Melted Cat

Problem 2 = Torch O2 Sensors

Problem 3 = HOT LONG Burn = Melt engine parts.

But that doesn't mean to go out and pour nitromethane in your car and see how it runs, if you do your engine will surely blow up. Nitromethane is very expensive and dangerous to handle. The interesting alternative to gasoline is Methanol. Methanol will make more power, typically around 20% more power than a similar engine running gasoline. Some things to consider in running methanol is your fuel system will have to be completely changed / upgraded. Based on the table above the fuel system will have to flow approximately 2.5 times as much as the gasoline engine.
