Not happy with Midlength gains
So i have intake, 2.4 manifold, 2.25" options racing exhaust, and I added a ZZP catted midlength combo with 1.75" primaries. Also have an hp tune (before midlength).
So its louder, sounds crazy but obviously too loud, gotta add a chamber muffler on the back. But im not impressed with the gains, maybe theres a little gain from like 60mph+ on the highway, no difference in 1st/2nd gear, I reset the battery, thought it helped but was really a placebo.
My question is how much of a difference will it make if I retune for the midlength? I dont want to pay $150 for a retune if it doesnt do ****.
Opinions? (Yes i know i should ditch my shitty gold base model and get a turbo car, but I need to buy a house in the next couple years going to keep this car)

1.75" primaries are a bit on the large side even for an LE5. Thats probably part of the reason you didnt feel any gain downlow. Going with a primary that size has most likely killed off some of your lowend.

wouldn't be surprised at all if this was the case, don't spend that cash on a tune..if you're going to spend any more time or effect into this I'd try to contact zzp and exchange the 1.75 for the 1.5 they have (although that isn't much better than spending the money on the tune if you have the header on your car already, and if I'm not mistaken you bought them second hand not from zzp) hope you figure it out !

a french guy came in that doesnt speak very good english thats what happened.
anyways, you have a 2.2l n/a engine. you wouldnt have gained very much from this header since your not flowing alot of air through the engine. the stock manifold would still be doing a good job.

makes perfect sense you are s/c the .25 difference allows less air restriction and less boost is needed...our friend here is not s/c no boost to lose not enough air flow losing back pressure/power
