Oil Life Monitoring System: For Technically Minded People

if he said HE (maven) knows more than 90% of the site combined, THAT would be arrogant. saying that a homeless guy really knows his **** was just to prove the point that you can't associate how much money someone makes with how much they know.

How was the stat shitty? Because it points out the vast majority of this site doesnt understand the actual workings of the ICE, and has no idea of what goes into the design of the engine?
Innaccurate? Yeah youre right, there's probaly only 10 individuals MAX, here(which would be about .0003%) who have anywhere near the combined experience and credentials that the gentleman i was referring to did.(No I am not included in thaty number, so give it a rest.)

Arrogant because I don't think Maven knows every person, as well as what they know mentally; therefore, cannot make such a statistic. You don't just make up statistics, that's not how it works; assuming some random guy you met, knows more about the design and function of internal combustion engines than 90% of the populace of this site combined, is quite arrogant, in my eyes.
Granted all in all, I don't give a ****. It just came off as arrogant to me. I'm not looking to start a flame war; to each his own, I suppose.

Actually 50% of all statistics are made up. And 90% of all stats can be made to say whatever you like 63% of the time.
BTW, it wasn't arrogant because it wasnt about me in anyway. It may have been presumptive, but not arrogant, and based on the **** i see posted here i stand by my imaginary stats, LOL

I am also a degreed mech eng. You are going to get a TON of responses on this thread from people who have no ******* clue what they're talking about. Only take advice from people who are wealthier than you, remember that. The majority of the people on this site are union or non-union blue collars who will only make $30-$40/hour (adjusted for inflation) for the rest of their life.

ok sir..........I've never meet you b4, so Hi! My name is Jon. I'm the guy who made this thread. And the term "knowledgeable" is a very relative term. I've been on this site for about a year now and I'm gonna be really honest. When I hear the word "knowledgeable", I associate that with ALOT OF PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE as well as THE KNOWLEGE OF DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT. IMO there are maybe 5% of the twenty thousand + of members on this site that meet that criteria, and I DO NOT meet both or those critera myself.

very true. Knowledgeable is in the eye of the beholder.. Lets just say, theres several members here that win all debates solely because they know more. Witt, and Area47, and Maven are great examples. I have never seen either if these three proven wrong in an area they argued unless it was by one of the others. Theres some 20 people that fall in that category in my book... However, when I first joined, I thought there were loads of knowledgeable people here, because by comparison, i knew nothing
BROTHER!!!!! i didnt know there was another tC on here...is that the 5 axis lip i see???

That is seriously the most unbelievable post ive ever seen lol. Ive seriously never seen a ******** that big that would bash the normal working people that more then likely, keep life around him operating. So, if a docter advised that you needed an operation would you simply tell him no because you make more then him? Just because people make less then you doesnt mean they dont know more then you.
