whoa. that would be craaaaaazy! Would like to see someone attempt it. Probably would take a lot of fabrication and money. You'd need ECU, harness, custom brackets/mounts, everything. If you try it, good on ya!!! That's a sweet motor.

Just for starters, you would have to redo the engine mounts. And do you even know if it will fit in the engine bay? And does that setup work with a front wheel drive car? Then, if it will fit, there are all the little things to deal with, new radiator, new pedals as its probably drive by cable, rework heater and A/C so that they work, possibly new brake setup because the size of the engine in the bay, the list goes on.....

I think that you would be way better off just buying the new cobalt TC instead.

if you're concerned about hassle, then this is absolutely not the project to be working on. first off, you'll have to see if it will fit. then you have to worry about the tranny. then you have to completely rework the exhaust to fit. then you have to worry about all the electric systems. basically everything would have to be redone under the hood, moved, re-worked, etc. then, you'll have to redo the brakes, completely redo the suspension, etc. you're basically going to have to re-do EVERYTHING for this to work. for the price you're going to pay, you're better off building your engine and slapping a big turbo on it. same power, probably 5x less the cost and headache. if you have some really deep pockets, and don't care about the cost, i guess it would be cool. but totally not worth it.

Was that an attempt at humor? Or is it a batshit insane idea?

Also, yes, I know, hassle, whether or not it will fit and all that jazz. I just think it would be f-ing sweet!

Well I think making my car have deployable jet boosters would be sweet too, but im not gonna make a thread about it.

The money that would go into making a Cobalt be able to fit/run a Skyline motor would probally exceed the amount of money to just import/buy a Skyline outright, lol.

Yeah importing is probably cheaper. Im just into Skylines is all, and I love my Balt. Best of both worlds, yeah?

so you're going to buy an exhaust, which you'll have to redo if you actually attempt to do this swap?

before you do anything i would actually do some research, not just say "this would be cool what's involved"

Are you serious? Theres multiple places that do all the legalization process and importing of them for you.....for a hefty price. Motorex was the first to do it, but they fell through a few years back. In fact, the past 3 years i've gone to HIN out here theres usually at least like 10 Skylines.....and all of them are wearing VA tags, so they arent just show cars.

Yeah, I know who your talking about. He loved the way my car sounded.....he was gonna get video sound clips for his Cobalt friend (you maybe?), but we never got around to it.

That might be a little help in the self-esteem of the project?

I"m sure it can be done, but like everyone says "Your pockets better be DEEP". I would do it if I won the lottery instead of buying a fast car, I would take my slow cobalt and drop like 3 million into it lol

well......some of you should look up the s2k engine in a lotus.....

it's not a bad idea at all honestly. a lot of money to put it in, but from there.....every mod would further it even more.....

if u got the money, go for it!
