Opinion on exhaust

Got another question, really not searchable, in my opinion.

Eventually, I think I'd like to equip my Cobalt with an exhaust system.

Only problem is, I hate rice, and I cannot stand to have my car sound like a ricer (aka, weed whacker, buzzy bee, someone with gas...etc), considering I have a V8 in the Camaro.

Obviously, there's no way to get V8 sound out of a 4-banger.

So, I'd like your opinions on the best sounding exhaust, that doesn't sound like a ricer.

Thanks.

Everyone is just gonna tell you to get what they have. I have an ARK N2 cat-back with a CA v1 header and an XTC cat-less downpipe. Its very loud and def not for everyone. Also, the muffler itself is very large and attracts alot of attention, often unwanted attention (cops)....so.....i'd reccomend it b/c it looks, sounds and performs amazingly.........but at the same time, i'd also say stay away from it if your looking for something a bit more subtle.

I figured everyone would tell me what they had.

And don't worry, I know about loud. I ran around with my electric cutout open quite a lot in my Camaro.

The car itself just attracted attention, even without the cutout.

Oh, and how about the SLP exhaust? That sucker sounded wicked at full throttle. Pricy, but it's SLP.

i've never heard slp in person but from the vids and sound clips i'd say that would be a good one too. and like you said its pricey as hell but its a well known company that puts alot of time and quality in their products.

I got magnaflow and love it. It's nice and deep. Not to loud where it gets obnoxious but you can definitely hear it pretty good. I'm sure others are good as well, GMPP touring, GMPP performance and Corsa systems sound very nice also.

i have the megan exhaust with a vibrant header and dp, sound it great, the look on the base model is not that goot, the canister sticks down a bit to low...so it looks a bit off...im actually about to change to a oval type muffler...going to just cut the sucker off and weld in a new one

If you don't want rice, get a touring exhaust of some kind.
