The hahn kit is the garret kit, if you look at the garret website they mention they partnered with hahn on the kit

the sct reflash comes with the alpha kit. So far its the only form of tuning for the 2.2.

The thing I want to know about the reflash... would the ecu still be able to calibrate to changes? Like how much extra boost could it safely compensate for before you'd HAVE to go with a piggyback or standalone?

My guess would be that you wouldnt beable to mess with boost since your tune is done once you do the reflash.

I'd like to know what it comes with in the electronics kit. If it comes with a 2-3 bar map sensor then it's pretty likely the bcu will still be able to make adjustments as needed. Meaning you could add boost and the computer would compensate. However the minute you need to put bigger injectors in...

2.2s can still tune with the smt7 piggy back thou right? so if you got a piggyback and a turbo, you would be able to constantly tune right?

ive talked to adam hahn a lot about this kit and he has answered every question with so much detail you wouldnt believe... as far as i know the sct livewire has preset tunes and im almost positive you can make custom tunes for it too, there isnt a map sensor- its a maf and you have to run an internal blow off valve since the air goes back to the intake (the tuner makes the ecu think that so if you change to an atmospheric it may lose some power after shifts or when it would blow off). if you want to go through all the hassle with piggybacks just go for a custom kit and dyno and tune it for your own results. no offense to this kit cuz i would love to have it and hope to once i get my money/job issues worked out

the only thing i dont like about this tume set up is that the kit comes with SCT Livewire. when i got it i was excited because with the livewire you are suppost to be able to moniter engine functions, it has a peak horsepower estimater, est. 1/4mile, 0-60 times and a shift light, well i called SCT and i turns out that this tuner is COMPLETELY different, IT IS A FLASH TUNER ONLY, IT COMES WITH THE TURBO TUNE AND A STOCK TUNE. THAT SUCKS, but all if any updates SCT comes up with are free downloads for everyone, but still now i need a pillar full of gauges which i dont have money for, and a clutch

If you drive your car properly, you shouldnt have to worry about a clutch. Unless your shooting for much higher numbers.

well the extra stress on your stock clutch is going to wear it down alot faster. A better clutch is in order... but it's not like the stocker isn't capable for the time being.

I keep forgetting that these car's use the maf sensor to read incoming air... It kinda sucks you can't change ANYTHING without getting a different tune. Although you don't need to get a different kit just to be able to use a piggyback. It's perfectly reasonable to install your own piggyback to make changes. But I wouldn't worry about that untill you get your clutch and metering devices in place.

this car is my daily driver, so im trying to make it bulletproof. it now has enough power for the street for me, so a new exhaust and my performance will be done, i just want some opinions on how to make this thing the most well rounded car it can be

The hahn kit runs pretty well with the stock internals so as long as you just add an exhaust they should be good to go.

since the hahn kit is pretty sound, I would just have oil pressure, fuel pressure, boost, and an egt guage(as long as you don't have a wideband, this will do. Not really necessary to most, but it is to me). Since you don't plan on doing any extra tuning those should suffice. Just enough to let you know all is well.

A good clutch is pretty obvious. Most stage 1s are little more than a stock replacement, so I would get a stage 2. I would look into a lightweight flywheel while you're doing the clutch to put more power to the ground. An adjustable tourque strut wouldn't be a bad idea. keep it loose for dd to keep the vibes down and when you go to the track you can tighten it up to keep wheel hop down. if wh is still a problem after that there's always traction bars. I'd stay away from solid motor mounts though because they'll cause constant engine vibrations and you probably don't want that all the time.

Better tires would be a good idea. Now that you've got more power to mess with you want to make sure you have good traction right? Possibly some springs and shocks/struts to accentuate it and make it ride more like a real sports car. A good set of sway bars with a rear strut mount bar would really stiffen the chassis in the corners too. Your stock brake system is pretty good but a rear disc conversion would take away all the problems drum brakes bring along(adjustments, difficult rear brake maintenance, difficult rear brake replacement, etc.). Add a set of performance pads and you'll stop on a dime. Stay away from drilled/slotted rotors though, you can't machine them and they tend to break/crack.

With all that, not only will you have an awesome street car that rides smooth as hell, you'll also have a very well rounded track car.
