Just an off the wall one here... have you considered just finding a LSJ in a junk yard and swapping in the rotating assembly? You'll get the forged parts and the lower compression ratio... then you can up the boost.

Man i felt the same way, but i guess i just have that itch for more power. Which is why im getting more =P

GL at the track, cant wait to see your times. Would have been fun to run our cars together and see how they both perform. But im not anywhere close to you lol.

well it could work. The parts are interchangeable, but I would just get the whole shortblock. Save alotta hassle

if you were going to tear your block apart I'd put something alot stronger than stock lsj internals.

well, i am actually the manager of a junk yard in joliet, il. so finding another motor wouldnt be too hard, but im not really looking for any more power out of this thing because my dad and i have a 1967 chevy II that has a 383ci stroker, with 12.5:1 compression, that we race at route 66. that thing is crazy fast, it makes about 600 horsepower on motor, and is built for a 300hp shot of nitrous.

I don't think anyone's tried it yet... but I don't see why not. The LSJ is simply a de-stroked 2.2 with stronger internals. The cylinder bore is the same... sounds like it would just slide right in.

Now getting the computer to figure out what's going on might be more problematic... but who knows.

I was $200 away from having a LSJ and tranny at my front door. Speed Mafia found us a wrecked Ion RL that was up for bid. The engine and tranny were fine. We could have outbit the guy in the last 2 minutes for $2100 but decided not to. I was going to do a full engine and tranny swap on my car and put my turbo kit on the lsj and run twincharged. We decided the price was a bit high, but now that i think about it, it woulda been pretty damn cool =P Almost wish we went through with it.

I'm pretty sure you cant swap the heads so you'll need the whole motor.

Heads no... I mean the actual rotating assembly... pistons/rods/crankshaft.

Yeah im going to be running forged JE Pistons and using the LSJ Rods for them, on stock compression. Should be interesting, hopeing that theres no ka-boom haha....Just need more funds to put it all together....Anyone want to donate to the Build ORT's Car fund? lol

depends what you want to do. Really it doesn't matter too much since the turbo provides it's own backpressure. I'd just stick with 2 1/2 if you don't plan on uppin the boost. Mostly for sound purposes.

well say if you were going to swap the f35 onto the l61... couldn't you just use the f23 flywheel/clutch(or even an upgraded one)? Or does it not line up?
