Question Pacesetter Monza exhaust

I was looking at maybe getting the pacesetter exhaust for my 2.2L Cobalt. Can't find any sound clips though for our engine, anyone found any clips?? I was checking j-body.org but couldn't find any...

Few questions... I've heard that pacesetter exhaust's sound good (not ricey, which is a must for me), but why no resonator? also, this system is not stainless steel... should I just get the magnaflow system and pay the extra $? opinions?

I noticed on Turbo Tech that the picture of the exhaust does NOT have a resonator... however the picture on Gravana's website shows it with a resonator. Maybe the pic of the one with the resonator was actually the pic of the one for the Cavalier... no clue.

Our pic is the actual product. For the 2.2 pacesetter cobalt products.

i got a little excited for a split second when I saw the pacesetter, 160 for a new exhaust?? then reality set in, and i realized it can't be all that... i'm not saying price is everything, but when other exhausts are 5 times as much, then there's something fishy about it..

I will always chime in when pacesetter is mentioned. They sound amazing IMO. And yeah their exhausts aren't stainless steel, that is why it isn't that expensive. Once I get my pacesetter exhaust for the 2.0, I'll post a video and you will all agree that it sounds great.

Dont get it. I had one for my neon. Put it on and it sounded fine about a year than just like over niht the thing sounded like a freakin rice burner. Oh also about 4 months after it was installed I noticed a rust problem.

I have heard word from pacesetter that all of their exhaust tips (which used to rust) are now all stainless steel so the rust problem is no longer a factor.

The rest of it is painted. So I'd imagine it wouldn't rust any faster than the stock exhaust thats for sure, and if you wash your car as often as I do w/the underbody flush it might not be too bad... I dunno, I might just listen to Mercury and try it out.

You could go the custom route for around $400 all stainless steel and installed and not pay for the cat-back, shipping, and installation which would put you over $600 and some change.

I am going for the custom route myself... I will post some pics and hopefully some sound after I get it installed... mine should be around 300 for mine... the muffler was 150... the muffler shop said around 100... so works for me! Question though... Doing 2.5" piping... what about the resonator is it really needed or just make it a little quieter!

Exclamation

So I decided to order the pacesetter cat-back for my 2.2L... I'll post pics and a sound clip when I get it... and get it installed... hopefully it has a deep enough tone for me! we shall see...

Aaron, any ETA on the order? JUST ordered it this morning but just checking...

hey i got the monza pacesetter exhaust, it sounds slot better than dc i had on my crx. the tone is very deep and throaty, although i dont really care what a car sounds or looks like as long as it hangles predictably and is realatively quick off the turns. i mean realisticly todays cars are for the most part disposable, i plan on trading this one in about three years from now(as soon as im not upsidedown in payments). s/c solstice is next for me.
