Performance chip question.
Hey guys i was doing some research and was wondering if anyone knows anything about the performance chips. Particularly jdm stage three. Do they actually work, and is it noticeable power gain. Thanks

oh lord. Here's some news for you.
Chips do nothing but take your money.
In the old days of OBD1 emissions, cars had reprogrammable chips in the computer which had to be taken out and replaced to "tune" the computer. Nowadays, everything is OBD2, and can be reflashed using a laptop with a custom tune. In modern cars with OBD2 emissions (anything made after 1996), chips do nothing.
Trifecta tuning supports reflashes for All Cobalts.
HPTuners supports 2005-2010 Cobalt SS (both 2.0L S/C and 2/0L T/C), 2006-2008 Cobalt SS (2.4L. 2008 model year called the "Sport"), and 2007-2010 Cobalt 2.2L

As tommy said, chips do nothing. Their wild claims are completely false. From what I've read, they can actually be dangerous because what they really do is trick your cars computer with false readings for some of the sensors and make it run leaner which is not safe for the motor at all.
