what are some basic performance upgrades i can do for my 2.2? and what are some more advanced ones such as turbos or supercharger upgrades and the like? and one final question what about the possibility of putting the ss/sc engine in my ls?

you know it isn't the speed of your car that matters it is your perceived fun value, add some new tires, exhaust and intake and your fun level will go up 2X.

It depends on your ultimate goal for your car.

You can ultimately do whatever you want to your car with enough money, knowledge and good mindset/common sense behind what you're doing.

Not to sound mean at all but if you have to ask this question, you are probably not ready to get into anything advanced, atleast, by yourself. I suggest reading and learning as much as possible...buy books...seriously, it helps.

If you need any help, feel free to PM me. I've been involved and researching the L61s since 2003, so hit me up if you want.

Good luck.
