You chickened out. Put it in L, floor it. Let the car accelerate without interruption, keep your foot on the gas. It will rev to red line and then shift to 2nd. I promise. And you won't break anything, so relax.

I play with L sometimes...it's fun until you get a forced upshift unexpectantly. I do have a question about OD. My 4th gear only engages after 40mph. Is this right...or should I take it to da shop???

My 4th gear on my LS doesn't even come into play untill 100mph at wot... and my govenor is at 105 so when I'm racing somebody I don't even use D, I just stick it in I and leave it there.
