there is no how to. its not to difficult as long as you can read print on paper and do exactly what it says on there. and clean the engine a little bit before you put the new manifold on.
* when you get it. and it talks about a white clip for the brake booster hose i believe it says you can take it out by hand or cut into sections. just do your best to take it out by hand. it makes things a lot easier for the reinstall

The how-to that CED gives you is pretty clear. I didn't have a problem installing it based on their instructions. As far as cleaning goes, pop the hood, and look at the top of the manifold where it meets the head. You want to get all of that dirt off so it doesn't go into the intake ports when you take the old manifold off.

it shouldnt be to bad if you left the engine cover on. but when you take the manifold off just clean more around that area where the old one was. use a handvac to get most of the dirt off. is another tip

when they say tight fit. they mean it lol. make sure nothings pinching any of your lines down after its in. and try and do it on a semi warm day. those are the only other things i can think of right now about it

My kit came with no instructions. Very fun stuff. Remove CAI. Then just unbolt the throttle body. Don't worry about the sensor on the TB just leave it attached. Remove sensor on top of Intake Manifold. Then remove bolts around the Intake Manifold itself. Make sure all the little black clips are disconnected from the manifold. Miscelaneous wires and such out of the way. Remove the brake booster line. Remove old manifold. Put in new one with all gaskets and such. Cut old brake booster line to fit new setup then reverse everything and you are done.

you will have to drill out the hole for the sensor in the manifold if your an 07...
but it will be worth when you get it done!

yea mine was hitting something i couldnt see either it was wierd...but i yank and pulled away and it just popped right off. make sure you clean the ports out dirt will get into those for sure when u take the original manifold off. youll love this it made a pretty big differance towards the top. i did it one a freezing day about 17 degrees and it sucked it took me about an hour and it was cold. have fun man its cool

I would do the exhaust first. In fact, I would do the entire exhaust first. Changing the intake manifold is right up there with cams with regard to determining where your powerband will be. It changes the ride quite a bit.

well it arrived today, man you gotta take alot of things off to get the mani off. im wondering if this mod should be done by someone with more experience working on cars, im still really new to performance. is there any kind of shop that will install this for me, and dont tell me dealership as an option because id rather not deal with them.

Don't worry about the # of steps for the install, its really a piece of cake. I did it and I don't have much experience. When I removed it later (the 2.4 manifold), it took me about 5 minutes. The first time I took it slow.

yeh thats what i thought but my dad is so persistant on saying that installing intake manifolds is super difficult and takes all day.....his experience being on old v-8's.. i take it that the cobalt(2.2) is much different/easier than a v-8?

If you take your time (like I did) then a little over an hour is all it takes. The instructions are very straightforward and IMHO anyone could do it! Most of the time spent is just rereading the directions and getting up the courage to just go to town on it. Happy modding! Just a hint...I have an auto and to punch it from a 20 roll is amazing!
