I didnt know where to put this but i have the 2.2 motor and a 5 speed and when i accelerate hart and has a high pitched whine and i was wondering what it could be?

mine also does that, I think it may be the airbox or the silencer. it's normal tho

Mine does this as well. It is perfectly normal. After installing the K&N CAI you are able to hear it much more louder and forceful. I was asked if it was supercharged twice now. I believe it is directly related to the SAI because I do not hear the same sound from non-SAI cars. If your exhaust is relatively cool the car should suck for air to burn off the gas faster. It won't run forever though. Once the exhaust is warm the SAI shuts off.

Maybe we are talking about two different sounds though =)

My 2.4 whines like its turbocharged at high rpms when the exhaust is cool, so I'd assume that's the same.

its not your intakes. its just your serpentine belt that whines at high rpms. a lot of cars do it. ours just tend to do it pretty loudly.
