Quiet exhaust set up

Now that I've got your attention.... basicly I'm asking for suggestions for an exhaust set up that will free up the 2.2, but not really change the exhaust tone. I'm a long time owner of V8's and LOVE the deep loud exhaust those put off. Never really been a fan of 4 cyliner exhaust sound. I still have my Trans am and Corvette, but as gas has gone up, the cylinders have gone down. I really like the look of the Cobalt's and basicly got it to save on gas. Now that I have it, I also want some get up and go. After lurking around here and getting some ideas of what to do, that want has been getting bigger!! I want to get a CAI, 2.4 mani, header, DP, catback set up, and possibly the 2.4 TB. Maby eventually go turbo. But like I said, I'm looking for something that will help the breathing, but not change the exhaust tone too much. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Corsa Touring or GM Touring. Both just a little louder then stock.
Those mods you got planned sound good. Intake, full exhaust, and a tune will really wake it up from what I've heard from the 2.2 owners.

Thanks for the ideas. Now as for the header and DP, would the GMPP work well with say the zzp set up? Or will it still be restrictive?

GMPP with the ZZP header and downpipe would be a pretty nice setup. Go for it!

you can get the stock stuff off a cobalt 2.4 / ss/sc or an ion 2.4 or redline and it'll work.. it'll give some gains and a quiet note

i might happen to have my full stock exhaust FS right now too lol

That's a good compromise, but I'm looking for just a little more flow. I know it'll flow better then then stock 2.2, but if I'm going aftermarket, might as well get a little more. I don't mind a small change in tone or deeper, just don't want the "pissed off weed wacker" sound. lol

check out the tsudo exhaust if you want a deeper tone than most 4 cylinder exhausts that still sounds good. is a little louder though. head on over to youtube and tsudo cobalt and you'll see some vids.
