If only it was that easy. There weren't any L61 blocks locally. For the money the whole LE5 was the same price as the L61. Plus the 2006 LE5 engines have forged pistons and rods. So the statement of the L61 and the LE5 would be true in regards towards "beefiness" if it was a 2007+ LE5.

You may want to check into some rod and piston combos I dont think they are too expensive for an LE5. But interesting build to say the least! have you checked out the hybrid sticky info in the LSJ tech section? its worth a read for you at least Ill link you

Oh yeah, doing the whole LSJ valve cover on the engine too, color matched Arrival Blue Metallic.
Also going to have ihatestickers.com wrap the fuel injector cover like this, but instead of the red it's going to be BLUE PLAID!

MAJOR UPDATE TIME!!
Cleaning the 2.4L Previous owner used cheap ass gas with left alot of carbon deposits.
Pistons cleaned from carbon buildup.
The first meeting....LE5 bottom end + L61 head.
Assembling and timing the LE61!
Masking off the LE61? For what???
Oh no...is that a rattle can?
LIME GREEN!!
TTR Engine mount...color matched LIME GREEN!

Guessing my warranty is voided haha
Digging the LIME GREEN / Lambo Green / Challenger Green

Brackets painted aluminum

Finding all the bolts again...stage.
That moment when you realized you made a Seattle Seahawk themed engine...I am a St. Louis Rams fan hahaha
All seductive looking!
Figured while it's down, upgrade the front sway bar! Hello FE5 SS/SC 24mm with poly inserts!
Can't wait for twisties!
Oh yeah....also gonna run corn fuel! E85!
Almost miss the factory label....lol
Oh hey smoothflow pulley 3.065, how I only used you for a night then pullied down to the 2.9 which blew up the car....Starting from the top (insert Drake joke here)
I can't wait till she's alive again!
