ran the car a little today just leting it idle and noticed I was leaking fuel at the fuel rail fitting, pulled off the fitting to see a shreded o-ring so I replaced that than I just put my foot on the throtle and let the rpms run up slowly and it started smoking again and I just kept running it and by 4k rpm it stoped smoking so im eating dinner right now but after wards I will go out and do it again and see if its still smokes. also we rigged it so that the intake was directly conected to the intake manifold and the turbo outlet was open and man that thing is blowing air fine so im not sure WTF is going on yet but I think that it might be the fuel injector cleaner that I put into the gas we put in the tank so that would explain the smoking. but we will see

put the bumper and lights on and went for a drive, at first it was a little slow to spool but after adjusting my boost control solonoid the throtle responce was perfect, im seem to be making about 7-8 psi depending on how hard I flore it but hey im just happy it works I will post pics of the fully asembled car tomorow, its too dark to do it now

I would lossen the nuts on your wastegate rod and see if that helps. my waste gate is -4an hard line run directly from the turbo, then my bypass valve, fuel pressure regulator, boost gauge, and map sensors are all -4 an hard line conected directly to the intake manifold the brake booster hose is just conected to the manifold

so what you want to do is remove the (blue) nut, let the wastegate arm (red) sit agenst the valve that will show you the spot to tighten it to then install the (blue) nut and tighten it a little past whare the wastegate arm rests against the exhaust valve (you want a little tension on the rod) then adjust the green nut to keep the wastegate control arm (red) in place then tighten both (green and blue) nuts agenst each other to keep them in place, I would also sugest high temp thread locker for this

so a few of you might remember when we were first discussing cutting the oil filter cap for use with the LNF manifold so I did not have to take off the intake manifold when I needed to change the oil. well I did go through with that and let me tell you the results of that, DONT DO IT today driving home from work I went wot and the oil lite came on and my oil pressure gauge showed 0PSI well at first I thought I blew my engine this happened at night so I could not really see anything in the engine bay, but after feeling around were the oil was sprayed on the engine I discovered that the oil cap blew off so the cobalt is in my drive way now, had a tow truck come and move it to my house. the moral of the story is that GM enginers made the oil cap threads a certan length for a reason. I will order a new one and get some oil and get it up and runing again

Those threads are only PA6 nylon with glass filler. They are not super that is why there is a lot of them to create a good anchor. I had not seen that you cut it earlier in the thread, otherwise i would have told you that was a bad idea.

yeah def a bad idea I got a new one and put new oil in its running well. I have a few vids but I dont have enough time to upload them before work, but the car is tuned and runing, oh and fun
btw I ended up increasing the fuel pressure to base line at 60 psi insted of 43 the engine is a lot more happy under boost now

the oil filter I removed after the mess was free of metal also there was sill like 1.5 quarts of oil still in the engine when I draned it this morning, new oil cap, new oil filter, new oil and she is happy and boosting like a bat out of hell and then on the way home I get the check fuel cap message and realized I never hooked up my evap solonoid to the system, im going to have to go back and fix that

Good deal, didn't want to see any toasted bearings, no fun I know lol. Sounds and looks good. That TTR mani is tempting for the price, just dont want to have to recoat my pipes again
