Red's K04 Turbo Build
#366
So today I blew a silicone coupler today split it right across the top, did some poking aound and pulled off the upper charge pipes and much to my iritation there is a lot oil in the charge pipes so im gunna go ahead and say that my previous fears of a bad turbo are true and seeing how i have no money right now to replace the silicone coupler let alone the turbo and no working car im gunna say its starting to look grim I will decide over the next few days what to do with it, my parents are starting to wory that its becoming a money pit. they pretty much already told me to "return it to working order" so we will see

ok so i have been promissing photos for a while now so here ya go
this is the tiny hole that resulted from drilling the block (pic is looking down the bolt hole. is now patched and pluged
started taping the block for 3/8npt you can still the clump of metal shavings that I had to clean off
3/8 npt fitting installed in the block
then we have some pics from this last weekends RKC car show yes I was the first non staff to get there
then we have the blown coupler
and the oil in the charge pipes and in the turbo aswell

well I got the bumper off and the intercooler I was using has a huge dent it it of the back of it, most likley from the tow truck ramp from the incident with the oil cap so with the help of my uncle a new and significantly larger intercooler was ordered so I started to unbolt all the intercooler piping and gess what I found, more oil inside the pipes and the intercooler was flooded aswell
