Removing Balance Shafts?

Is it worth it?

How difficult are we talking here?

How bad do you think my idle would be without them?

I read in the post by Fred that you cannot remove them completely without risking your entire engine. So the only way to do it is to add neutral shafts instead of just pulling them out completely.

There actually is a way to remove it with a kit. I think owen stampflee used it on his. Level Zero was providing the kits. They are members of the forum as well.

lol, for the focus's theres a 30 dollar balance shaft delete kit, its super easy, i dont know if its the same thing we're talking about though. its somewhere in the oil pan, you take it out and put some metal in the kit over it or something, and its done. take off about 20 pounds over the wheels.

It's that way in the Sentra SER Spec V, or any Q25 powered car. The kit is $100 and it's accessible by removing the oil pan. Apparently it's easy to do on that car, I just never got around to doing it.

Ask Level Zero, they are the only ones I know who actually had such a thing. I don't know if they do still though.

I searched the site and didn't find any info on level zero. Do you have a link by any chance?

I'm more interested in the neutral balance shafts, it just sucks that the install is so difficult. Has anyone consulted an expert regarding how safe and efficient this delete kit is?

I really wish I could find out about the removal kid, I'd rather spend $50 on a removal kit and get 20 hp than $500 on neutral shafts and get 10.

Neutral shafts are safer though, I'd rather spend the money on neutrals than removals.

Where'd you get those numbers from? And last time I checked, they weren't $500
