Resitor (Chip) 2008 Colbalt LS Location of 2 out of 5 Wires for IAT?
Hi All,
I am trying to locate the 2 out of 5 wires (Tan, Yellow, Black, Pink & Blue) from the Mass Air Flow Sensor that is for the IAT. I want to install a Resistor in the prongs for a Chip Resistor I bought?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Jeff

Taken from Alldata for a 2006 Cobalt 2.2L
Pin A YE MAF sensor signal
B BK/WH Signal Ground
C PK/BK Engine main relay fused control
D TN IAT Sensor Low Ref.
E TN IAT Sensor Signal
Hope this helps but don't blam me if it doesn't work. I'm willing to bet the computer will throw a low sensor voltage code or something along those lines. Good luck and don't screw anything up the MAF/IAT sensor is like $92 at whole sale cost I believe.

Actually...if you really wanted to do this...just goto Radio Shack and buy some resistors..they are like 5 for a buck...lmao...
what i will do for all of you since i have a bunch of resistors and such (electronics hobby) i will put one in...and show you what it does....

so....like i said before...to prove the point...i have some resistors that are exactly the same that are in the "speed chips" that plug into your IAT laying around...i'll hook one up....then show vids of before and after just to show you no difference...lmao

i'm not convinced anyone in here understands the IAT sensor completely. all the resistor does is tell your computer you are running under cooler air temperatures. cooler temps mean more oxygen in the air. your engine will adjust to a slightly quicker timing advance. allowing slightly more power. unless you have the wrong resistor or put the resistor on the wrong wires, the biggest downfall is you should run a higher octane fuel. the most important part is the ohms. the ones on the internet are likely all running around the same ohms. while what the cobalt would need for peak response im not sure. but the camaro ls1 would run best with 8100 ohms. but if you buy a resistor on the net it will still likely be 4700 ohms.
