And you had it removed because...
1. rev back at the ricers?
2. like to waste gas?
3. want to wear the engine out faster?
4. like the sound of a reving engine?
5. makes you feel more manly?
and you asnwer is _ _ ___ __ __ ___ __ _ _ _ .

I assume your asking why in response to Denlou's question.... if not ignore this post.
A neutral/parl rev limit really, does **** all... but an upper rev limit (aka redline) is there to stop the car from over spinning the upper and lower rotating assemblies.
The most common failure is the upper assembly. You can cause valve float, and mash a valve into the piston... or dynamite any counter balance parts (aka balance shafts).
Raising a rev limit isn't bad... as long as your smart about it.

i won't ignore your post that's good info.
i really was responding to Denlou's post. the neutral/park rev limiter does squat outside of preventing you from doing a neetral drop and ripping apart your trans. he assumed cause it's there it must be really, really important. knowing how to beat on your car without totally abusing it is just as important imo.
and i still have an upper rev limit for those to simple to figure that much out.

No, I am not a fan of reving the engine. It doesn't make the car go faster. I don't consider reving it at a stoplight to be necessary. I prefer my car to be quiet, except when I need to open it up.

if you really wanna open it up. get a full exhuast setup and the trifecta tune with the p0420 code delete for the high flow cat. you won't believe how much more alive it'll be. gotta run the 93 octane for the true trifecta experience but it's well worth it.

I can't justfy spending $700+ on a header (I want a long tube) and CAT and then more money to get it installed because I don't have the tools I would need.
It my car gets me from point A to point B just fine.

By "open it up" I meant mashing the gas pedal. I also don't want to have to buy 93, as the price is going to continue to climb, and I like my warranty.

Isn't that like an oximoron?
Spanks, I think it sounds good, you have pretty much the same mods as me. What kind of power are you putting down?
I'm putting down 137whp without my tune currently.

at least 150 but it feels like a little more. gotta get dyno'd as soon as i get the dough. it's worth it cause with the pe delay removed you feel the car pull the instant you give it any kind of throttle.
oh yeah the shift+ has **** on the tranny tune you get smooth fast shifts and the power is still getting there were as the stage 2 on the shift plus makes the tranny buck and the wheels spin.
Trifecta ftw!
