RPM's..

Well i am stripping the motor out of the car here in like a few weeks and i am building it from the ground up.
now i have plan to get rid of the GT28 and run a GT35, my buddy who owns the local speed shop that holds the second hastest import in the maritimes 5 yrs in a row said why run a GT35? everyones doing them, why not go GT40? i told him well a GM wont rev like a Vtech B20 he told me witht he head done and port and polished you can rev them to 9 grand.
now my question is, what do i need to do this? and so on.
thanks/

Ferrea dual springs, Ferrea Seat Locators, Ferrea valves, Ferrea titanium retainers, and cams. That will allow you to go around 8500 RPM, as we have done this on ecotecs around here.

Aiming for EMS

why not talk to the guy that owns the speedshop? If he doesn't know what to do to run it safely, it's time to look for a new shop.

why rev so high? just slap the gt35, build the engine, rev it to 7500, and be done with it...no need to have a high redline...

I believe you are correct.

We went with an Electromotie TEC3 unit on ours. Stand alone is the way to go, when you go this extreame, IMO.

The hpt patch is an algorithim feed back loop. Basicly interupts factory maf/map and someothers and past the 8192 continuesly feeds back 8192 even though your at lets say 12000. But it also lets you trim fuel up there. I'm still talking to hpt!

You can use the 2.2 stuff in the 2.0 right? I don't see a diffrence till it gets to the cam.... all of the valves and such are the same diameter and lenght????

yes. the valvetrain for all ecotecs is identical excluding the valves themselves and the cams.

Everything BUT the cams can be interchanged, so the Ferrea line does work on the 2.0L engines perfectly, as we have installed it on them.

Don't forget the balance shaft delete kit, or at least neutral balance shafts if you're really set on revving beyond 7500 rpm.
