sai question

i recently bought and installed a k&n sri on my 08 2.2 and i live in cali so obviously i have the sai(damn i hate that thing) but i noticed that this intake had a section to directly connect the sai to it with a rubber hose, so thats what i did.. does this mean that if i go with a 2.4 mani swap or headers i will throw a code? or can i just get a breather hose for it? confused...

Not sure what your problem is? Intake manifold is not affected by the SAI.

the SAI exhaust manifold is a whole different animal -- no one makes a header to replace it. If you install a header there will be no place to mount the checkvalve (that's the piece that is bolted to the top of your exhaust manifold between the valve cover and firewall). If you don't have the SAI connected then you will get a CEL/SES light.

The man above me is correct. It will be a bitch if you try to get a header.

Bingo, the intake manifold is not affected, but the exhaust manifold is, so you couldn't install a header, as no manufacture makes one that supports SAI.

Yes most likely, but you would need to re tune to make sure it passed inspection levels..

If we were driving Civics that had this system, there would be 1000 different headers to accommodate us.

there is not a separate system for the exhaust, the one that's attached to the intake is the same one. it sucks air through your intake system with the pump and dumps it into exhaust manifold. it's all basically so that our exhaust gases come out nice and clean. i hate it. i want full exhaust already. my Corsa is dying for the dp header combo.

In PA do you have to get your emissions checked each year? I would think that is something you should look into as well. If they check for required emissions equipment that could become a major headache.

As for the Trifecta tunes...look up some threads on it and you can find out how to order it.

I'm telling ya trifecta is the best thing out. Depending on you're year hp tuners is an option but the trifecta is a very reliable source
