Pulling the balancer and timing cover tomorrow to retime the engine again.I got another tensioner today thinking maybe i got a faulty one since the motor would sound good at idle but once at 2000 rpm or higher, sounded like the chain was slapping around. As pulling the old one out,the chain made a loud noise on the crank end.So before trying to crank it with the starter I pulled the plugs and spun it by hand and you can tell the valve is tapping the piston.Lucky I checked by hand 1st.I would be pissed if I had to do this all over again from my own ignorance.

ok so let me ask a question, in order to properly time the engine after reasembly do you simply line up the marks on the chain/cams/crank

yes. They crank gear has a dot that should be in the 5 o clock position and then there is a pink mark on the chain to line up with that while also lining up the top 2 marks as pictured

so you just spin the crank's white dot to 5 o clock and then put the red link on it and then wind the chain up and on the back side spin the cams so the exhaust triangles on the red link and spin the front so the intake triangles on the green? then put tensioner in?

well got it running, then popped on the MIL(CEL for others here).Scanned it with my Android stupid phone(smart but suxass) and its throwing a crank to cam position correlation which means timing yet again jumped but this time only one tooth so no damage was done.So I have to pull the cover yet again to re time it YET again.Ive timed my motor maybe 20 times now. It's to the point where I think the chain may be stretched.Im annoyed so it will sit until I feel like looking at it,yet even think about it again.

I took my car for her 1st drive.Ran excellent, drove well.Took her to 4200 at 5 psi.She really wants to go,I can feel it.Did a lot of stop and go running only 5 psi, lots of decel.Ive missed driving her so much,it was nice to drive my car with a built motor that I assembled. The feeling is fantastic of success and accomplishment.Im uploading a video now.
