If you suck in water youll burn out the AIR pump. This is actually a common issue, that why GM went to the trouble of making the AIR system breathe through where it does.
I would try using some self vulcanizing tape. it only sticks to itself, so no gooey mess after a while, its thicker than electrical tape, and tends to have a much higher temp rating.
There are also self adhesive silicone sheets available at some parts stores, that would work nice too.

Awesome, thanks for the help guys.
I have noticed a big loss in MPG lately, I thought the two might be connected some how. If the air pump is broken would it cause any noticeable changes in the cars performance?

from my limited knowledge on the subject i would say no, based on the fact that it only feeds air into the exhaust to clean up emissions. but i'm no expert.

i've worked on several cobalts that had 3 02 sensors.

no, stock cars. one guy I had to send home because he had one on the manifold, and 2 on the downpipe, one before the first cat and one after the 2nd cat. I told him i wasn't going to leave one of the 02 sensors dangling or just disconnect it. Unless someone that owned the car before him drilled a wideband bung, and plugged it with a sensor but without a guage, but that would seem odd for an otherwise 100% stock car.

It seems redundant to have one on the manifold and just before the cats. That would be measuring the same air twice. Sounds like he had either the manifold or downpipe replaced with the wrong part at some point before it got to you. Did all 3 holes have a sensor screwed into it, and where they actually hooked up to something?

maybe they put a regular manifold, and the downpipe for sai? only other thing I can think of.

Alright just to sum this up. I live in PA I have no emissions but visual where I am at. I have SAI on my 08 LS. I have OBX header, GMPP intake and breather, and SES code for SAI. How would I best go about haveing my Step Dad who is Service Director at my local Chevy dealer, who has access to Tech2 reflash my PCM so that I dont have SES light any more. What do I need him to change to get the light out. Can I have him update my PCM with a none SAI program and call it a day.

so i was dumb and didnt do enought research before i bought my header, and it turns out my car has sai. If the sai only runs on start up, wouldnt i just be able to leave it unplugged from the header instead of removing the full system?

i'm not too well educated on this stuff but i'm pretty sure that'll set a CEL. one thing you can do though is to have a GM dealer reflash your computer to the sai-less codes. but i'm not too sure. one person that will know about this situation is 1/2 cent. look to post 1. PM him, he can tell you more.

While your car will physically work fine, you will get a CEL. That is exactly what this thread is trying to tell you. Your options are to not install that header, or get the reflash.
GM will not do the reflash for you as an official service request. You have to make friends with a tech that is willing to do the reflash for you. The program is completely legit and your car will work perfectly. GM won't do it because of they can't know what state you plan to drive in.

That I don't know. I have not yet heard of anybody using Trifecta to make this kind of change. It would seem reasonable that they should be able to do it.

Correct. Just don't expect to pass any state required emmisions tests. I do not recommend going forward without having a tuning option already in place. But if you are going to, you might as well completely remove the entire system. The pump, air lines, brackets, it will all be just useless weight.

no, theres no testing here. Hell, if they did start testing i think over half the cars around here would fail lol. Cops dont even car about loud exhaust, smoke coming from peoples exhaust. A couple cops in the area are even running catless systems on their cars.
