Secondary Air Injection on late production 2006 L61's

I'm going with... its illegal.
Yes, even if your state doesn't recognize CA emissions, your VIN is still representing that your car is ok for CA. Once you modify the SAI your car is no longer CA acceptable but you're VIN says it is so there is a fraud argument there.
Also, there is only one dealer I've ever heard of that was doing SAI deletions "Legit." All the other dealers people had it done at people had friends who were tech's who did it on the side.

Ok, I read the entire thread and just want to make sure I fully understand. My 06 has sai and i swapped my header with a pacesetter header at school today. I dont have a connection for the sai so I realize it will throw a code. Will the MIL for this system cause a performance change in the car if it remains on? I have an obd2 reader I keep on me so im not worried about the light always being on since I can always check for different codes to pop up.

lol I know my cobalt has it because I hear it turn on in the morning when I start the car. I also saw the motor when I was changing the oil, from what I remember it was in the way of the starter and it would have to come out if replacing the starter. I hope it never breaks because I don't want to spend money on emissions stuff.

I have an Injen CAI and I was looking at my SAI tube (hard plastic part near end) and I noticed it rubbed against the belt and had a hole in it. So I got the idea to terminate the SAI line before the hard plastic tube (end of the rubber tube behind radiator) and slap the breather filter that was on there before back on it. Now I figured just because I moved the filter back by few inches that nothing bad would happen. Wrong. I got a CEL this morning when I started cold. I started the engine and I heard the SAI pump hissing for a few seconds and then the CEL popped up. So tomorrow I'm gunna take it in the shop at school tomorrow and see what the scan tool says about it. Any ideas?

wondering if someone can help me out with telling me what this harness that plugs into SAI does.
it plugs into piece that bolts to the stock header and the tube from SAI goes into it on the right side.
there is a sensor that plugs into it and theres a brown and yellow wire that goes down the engine bay to something on the bottom.
can someone tell me what that wire is for.
because when i installed my zzp header i guess that plug was resting against the header and burned a little and wires got melted.. and after i dropped my car off to get supercharged i have been having a throttle problem and the guy said that they may of knocked a wire when moving the harness around (why they would touch this wire idk because there should be no reason to) and it caused a short and he said that is the VSS sensor.
can any one confirm this
sensor plug into this piece of SAI that connects to the 2 bolt flange thats on the stock header.

That plug harness is the power for the SAI pump. I don't know where the second wire goes stick you head up under there and look.
It will have nothing to do with your throttle issues. That has more to do with your supercharger installation. One has nothing to do with the other.
