Self-Tuning

Alright well, I just bought a ODB2 cord for my laptop. I am not currently trying to set up the software that it comes with. Is there any program that anyone thinks I should go with and could you show me how you use your software. I have a pair of headers with out a cat. So now my computer is reading "too lean" and that my O2 senor is malfunctioning. I have used a scan tool to check to see if it is reading, in which case it is. I know that all tunes are going to be different because of the different parts. I am not asking for the tune. Just how to change it for the better.

Well first thing is there really isnt a program that you can get. All the tuners have their own cords/boxes that go with them.

Well, that was more to the point. I was wondering what each person who tunes their own car uses.

The only 2 that you, yourself can use are LS2 Edit or HPtuners. (Go with HPtuners)

Otherwise trifecta will send you their programmer or you can get their cable and upload their tune with your computer.

That's what I was thinking. I found a couple programs I might be able to use but I didn't know if anyone knew more about the subject.

There are no self tuning programs available for 05's. So unless this guy comes through at some point you will only be able to use Trifecta for tuning and they do the tuning on their end.

If you can find something to read the ECU and learn the code then you could tune it by yourself. That is what I was looking for. A way to flash and code the ECU.

Not really that simple, I don't think you're going to get an online walk-through on that process

Read the thread I linked to and you will get an idea of what is involved. And no, it has not been done by anyone other than Trifecta on these forums

I wasn't looking for an online tutorial. If you can tinker with it a little bit, you can figure it out. I have a friend that tunes. He does Volks but it is the same basic principle. The code isn't the same but he could bring me up to date on tuning.
