So, got manifold back on and bolted the wastegate down. Ran vacuum line to T.

I had to bring the turbo up from the bottom, it would not fit from the top. It's a big boy.

As you can still see though, it's not mounted. Sadly, I didn't have the right size studs for it and it's way too late to run to the store. It will have to wait til tomorrow afternoon. If everything in the pic looks dirty, it's because it is. Need to redo my valve cover.

Checklist of things left to do:
  1. Get correct sized studs and mount turbo
  2. Screw on oil lines
  3. Tap oil pan
  4. Get downpipe made monday
  5. Plug in gt tuner and my laptop to my wideband and start logging

o snap....almost done...i told you, it wont fit through the top......lol...i tried to put mine in through the top as well but it wasnt happening...the only way to get the turbo on through the top is by taking off the head...which is too much work...but i did it when i blew my piston up....now i have forged pistons and rods, studs, upgraded springs and valves, and mounts..looks like we have almost the same amount of mods done....how much you planning on pushing?

Wastegate is set at 7 psi, hoping for ~240 whp.

I don't have everything in my sig, that's why it says coming soon. That's my future build that I haven't started yet. Once I do get fully forged and build the head, I'm thinking I'll up the boost and try to make at least 400 whp.

lookin really good! I love those turbos... ill be listing wastegates and turbochargers on our website soon as well for you guys! I know everyone always requests them and ill make it easier so you dont always have to call to order... thanks again for the support everyone! Sentry just so you know those studs in the manifold need to be 10x1.5mm and about 35-40mm long.

Yeah, I made the mistake of getting 10x1.25's and they did NOT thread right.

Everything is just about done now. I gotta get (3) 10x1.50 15mm bolts to finish the oil lines, and tap the oil pan. I got a question though, what's to stop me from just using the oil drain bolt instead of tapping a new hole? I believe I have the right fitting to make it work, any kind of technical reason why that might not be a good idea?

Yes the drain has no presure it will build up, and fill the chra with oil and blow ur seals, it's gravity based, which is why it's drains above oil level, not below it

^^ correct you want the oil to drain as feely as possible, using the oil drain pan bolt would not be large enough and would cause the hose to fill up with oil.

top right pic shows where you need to drill

top left shows the top view of the oil boss...looks like a dimple

bottom shows both the oil feed and oil return nipples installed

So wait, you drilled into your block instead of your pan?

The thing is, I don't have a tap that big. You're supposed to use a 1/2" tap, but even with the huge set I have, nothing even comes close. I was going to use a 1/4" for the return, guess that's out of consideration. I don't have anything to tap with now.

just go to sears and get a new tap..and if you have to...get a die set as well cuz you might need it for the new nipple

I've never understood what the difference between NC and NPT on these fittings. I think I have NC taps, but a 1/2" NC tap is much smaller than a 1/2" NPT fitting. What should I look for?
