no, they do not, but i have heard some bad things about B&m. TWM however does have a short throw shifter for the cobalt and i have heard that it is sexy.

Yes, they do make a B&M short throw for the LS, here's the link to it at Modern Performance http://www.modernperformance.com/gm/bm_shifter.shtml

I thought the 2.2 had the same Getrag as the Cavi/Sunfires???? Shouldn't the B&M for those work for the 2.2? I could entirely be wrong, but I thought it should fit if it's the same tranny.

The 2.2 gets the Getrag 287. I think the J-bodies got the F23 which is what the SS/sc got in '05.

The F23 IS the Getrag, and it IS the same transmission from the Cavi/Sunfire...check this list. The SS/SC has the FGP (Fiat-GM Powertrain) F35 out of the SAAB 9-3.

wasn't there an error with that Modern Performance site, I could have sworn they made a mistake and only SS/SC short shifters are available from B&M.

Yeah, it is the SS/SC one on there. There's one for the Cavalier/Sunfire, which uses the same transmission as the 2.2L and 2.4L Cobalts, so I don't know if that one would work or not.

I had the TWM with stainless weighted shift knob in my 2003 Tiburon. I would highly recommend it over B&M...

Typo: SS/sc gets MU3. Stepping away from splitting hairs, there isn't a B+M short throw shifter available for the 287 the 2.2/2.4s get in Cobalts yet. TWM has one as mentioned above.
