Since I can not post a ?n how to's

I need to do an oil Change on the car soon. I went to the dealer and they want at least 60 bucks to do the oil. I have no problems getting underneath the car, but I can not find the oil filter location.

Can someone who already has done the oil Change on the SS/SC give me detailed instructions on where things are?

P.S. How much oil due our cars take? In the book it says five quarts and on here I read that it takes 6 1/2 quarts to fill it. Please advise.

thanks.

My first piece of advice is shop around for a cheaper oil change. $60 is just rediculous. I have always changed my oil at GM Goodwrench and it has always been $29.

As far as oil capacity, go with the exact amount listed in your owner manuals specification and capacities section.

the filter is a cartridge type, on top of the motor. if you are standing in front it is below where the intake and TB meet. somewhere in that visinity. I haven't seen it since i did mine, so I am not positive what it is under. but it is that area.

You have the 2.2 liter engne. I have the 2.0 SuperCharged that takes only Mobile 1. That costs a lot more then regular oil.
