Solid Mounts and Cams FTMFL
Well i installed one of the two solid mounts i bought for my car. Believe me i don't think i'm putting the second one in. I think im going to go to GM and buy a stock tranny mount. The car shacks so damn much it feels like my doors are going to fall off. My dash in the car vibrates like a jackhammer. Do not buy solid mounts if you plan on having cams because all it does is stop the tranny from shacking but makes everything else shack.

Vibs are a side effect to soild mounts, it is what you want out of your car I guess. Performance vs stock...
Give the mounts at least 1000 miles before you make your call on them. Maybe you do have this many miles, but each person has diffent levels on how "the vibs are"

Could it be because i only got one in right now? Or will the second one increase it? just asking
i didn't expect to ride a jackhammer. I knew it would shack but not like crazy, i probably just need to break them in.

No. He said it right. There are 2 tranny mounts, and 1 engine mount.
To the OP, you don't need to remove the header to install the rear tranny mount. Just jack up the car and work from the bottom. I've done tranny mounts on both the L61 and the LSJ Cobalts.

We had it jacked up but we didn't want to mess with it anymore tonight. It just looks like the flange from the header is a little in the way.
Yeah i know but we only put the front mount on and left the rear tranny mount stock until we have more time.
i only bought the inserts.

i have solid mounts now, the vibs, i dont feel them anymore, i doubt cams will make it worse, and if it does vib more, ull get used it after a few drives, and i have done 2 sets of mounts now, none of which require the header/dp to be emoved, i pulled the back one thru the top of the car, on both my car and the ss, some people manage to pull it from the bottom, i just slide my hand thru the top and grab that hoe and take it out, took me and some friends about a hour to change both mounts and install a xtc dp on a ss
p.s. i did all the installing, they just did the bushing part, i was the one getting dirty under the car

Shouldn't take more than an hour to do them all. Installing all the mounts will actually decrease the amount of vibes you feel because right now its causing the vibrations to go through just one mount.

I had 2 solid poly trans. mounts about a year ago and I hated it from day one. The vibes were so annoying I took them out. Some people like a rough riding car
