SS Exhaust
does anyone know if the stock SS exhaust will fit a g5?

It should, as the G5 is a cobalt, with a little different style to it. Same platform and everything. Any exhaust that is/was made for the balt, will fit on the G5.

thats what i thought but the G5 has a 2.25 inch exhaust what is the stock ss

I couldn't tell you, as I own a 2.2l cobalt. I think it was 2.5". Some people said they lost a 1/4 inch when they got the GMPP Exhaust, so my guess is that the SS/SC is 2.5".

but you think it should fit... like would i need to get anything to adjust for the .25 inch

Yeah it should fit. LS and LT's bought the stock exhaust off of SCs and worked just fine. Like I said, same platform, it should fit.
