Probably the same as an aftermarket one. Somewhere in the range of 10whp most likely. (Assuming by SS muffler you mean the entire cat-back system)

lol i was gonna say something in the other thread about buying the dudes exhaust but didnt cause that woulda been rude.

but anywho

the gains would be very very minamal. because ur still going through a restrictive muffler. the only real benefit is a 2.5 inch tubeing which is better and is the only place ur gonna see gains.

but u COULD make a lot outof it if u gutted the SS/SC muffler. now if u did that it would be a different story. u would make a 5-6 hp gain prolly. but it would be a tad loud.

just buy a GMPP exhaust or something if u have the money.

u have the same header as the SS/SC btw the 07's got that. the 05-06's didnt. but i upgraded mine to the LSJ header (LSJ is the 2.0 SS/SC header fyi)

Agreed ^^^

The 07's got a larger header along with a few other small gains in hp

Just go for a GMPP, Corsa, or some other Cat-Back.

I bought the stock ss/sc catback for my car.. it was a real pain in the ass to put on because it was cut at the factory welds and it just didnt look right afterwards. The tip hangs lower than the stock tip on the 2.2 which looks funky. It wasnt even 2 days after it was installed that I ordered at GMPP catback.

No....the gains are minimal..not even noticeable at all.

If its not gutted, its nothing big. I have an 05 and I have a stock SS/SC exhaust. Nothing noticeable. Sounds stock....really stock, just a bit louder at WOT.

The SS/SC exhaust opening sits lower....what do you expect?

yessir. A cheap way to upgrade from an 05-06 header is to buy one from a 07 2.2 that changed their's, not just the 2.0's

edit: An LSJ Downpipe, and an Aftermarket (or GMPP) Cat-Back, yes

Not the catback from a 2.0

I am looking into a custom cat-back to save some cash. Not a 2.0 cat-back

so then a 2.0 SS downpipe and catback would give a few hp on an 07? i seen some people selling their stock ss catback exhaust for about 100-150 i think. wondering if i should go with that or go with a tsudo N1 exhaust.

I would do gmpp exhaust or magnaflow but my budget doesnt allow it. the tsudo n1 is like 240 shipped. that i could do, in a few months after my taxes come in.

What piping do 07s have now? 2.5"?

holda minute... you all are leavig out i think the best cat-back for half the value of corsa. The DC sports exhaust!!!! yea they r a lil slow on delivery right now. but my friend has an 07 ls put a lsj DP and the DC sports exhaust. It sounds SICKKKK!
Hands down wasily the best exhaust for the 07 LS.

I actuallt just ordere d one from cobaltaddiction.com it will be here in a week. It sounds not to loud but its gives a deep "hello, i'm an american"

I have the ss dp and catback on my 07 2.2 and this weekend I am cutting the muffler off and putting on a forza muffler. my tip on the ss catback sits nice ant tight up on my bumper cutout. Mine does not hang low at all. I hung it up nice and tight. (how I like my women)

darkhulk, you have links to where the best place to get the combo that you did?

I just dont want to spend 500+ on a catback. the tsudo or pacesetter is the cheapest right now. might be trading my stock for pacesetter for even trade now, then get the tsudo n1 when i can afford that.
cough unless someone hooks me up cough cough

for $50 if the catback is in good condition I would do it

gains aren't huge for exhausts anyway so I'd rather spend $50 on an OEM exhaust than $500 on an aftermarket for similar gains and a different sound.

if they can support 210whp+ LSJ's then it should be fine for us.

I acct. got my downpipe from stouffer on here, he has the lsj. And ordered the DC sports exhaust off of www.cobaltaddiction.com

I know its close to 500. But it beats an uncesissary 800 from other brands and it sounds deep and swell. It sticks out nice from under and says i like to party. It increases driving experience, which increases performance.

Remember, if you get the LSJ downpipe, don't get the GMPP catback. The cat converter will rub really bad on your front swaybar. The brackets for hanging the exhaust are in a slightly different location on the 2.2L than the SS.

Be prepared for a CEL with the LSJ DP as well. its about a 50/50 chance you'll get one.
