SS/TC Intake Manfiold for boosted L61/LE5's
The SS/TC Intake Manifold seems like it could be a fairly cheap alternative for us boosted 2.2's and 2.4's who want to run more then about 10psi. I know the 2.4 intake manifold can handle 20psi without issues but its an NA manifold, not ment for boost. So heres what i have dug up from my local dealer...
Part #: 12616667
Price: 196.73 (gmpartsdirect.com)
My plan is to weld in secondary injector ports on the top of the manifold and make an adapter plate for my throttle body. I could pick up a second fuel rail and just use my current test port to fuel the second rail. I would be using 60lb/hr injectors just so i have the extra fuel when i upgrade my turbo. The ports will feed in at about a 45degree angle making sure that if there is any extra fuel it doesn't cause any or too much puddling.
Now does anyone know if there will be any PCV issues? If so, could there be any adjustments made so it would work? Thats the only thing i could think of that would cause this manifold to not work for the L61/LE5.
Thoughts, comments, concerns? Have at it!!

I would be concerned with the size of the ports on the manifold. I believe this intake has significantly larger ports than the 2.2/2.4, so much larger in fact that I dont think it would line up.
If you do decide to go this route though, dont foget to order the intake manifold brace to.

EDIT: I see it maven, its labeled as #515. Where does the bottom part of that mount to?

Why dont you just get the hahn intake? Please dont cite that it costs like 100 more dollars, youre going to spend that in time/materials modifying this one.....

100 more? it costs 700 more.. So please dont come in here with a big head ok? I do a **** ton of research before i execute something. Im trying to find a cheaper alternative for everyone, not just myself. If it fails, thats fine. But if it doesnt then everyone could purchase this one, and not everyone is going to do secondary injection like I am. I just agree with HAHN when they use that method of fueling on high horsepower applications because i plan on running quite a bit of power once i get it running on low boost and my current turbo. One step at a time....

I am not sure if you could enlarge the ports on your head to match up with the ports on the LNF intake. Even though the bolts are in the same place on the two heads, the LNF injectors are underneath the intake ports and the 2.2/2.4 injectors are above the intake ports, and they take up some space, the LNF doesnt have this issue and the intake ports are taller. Like I said, I am not 100% sure on this. What I would do is order an LNF intake gasket and see how it lines up with your intake ports and PCV passages, thats what you need to do......

A new Hahn intake is well over $800, this one would be about $200.

I also updated the price on the original post with the price from gmpartsdirect.com. Way cheaper! Oh, and the HAHN manifold with port fueler is over $900.

Maven, i went out into my garage and pulled out my old blown up intake manifold and looked at the picture of the gasket. it looks like the PCV system would line up correctly. I will get the gasket itself and match it up to the manifold to be 100%.

Not meaning to thread jack but on the same page, would cobalt ss/tc cams bolt in a 06 2.2 or would the cam position sensor pose a problem. Could I just press it off?

I know, its weird, but it would definitely throw off the average person. I really think i can get this thing to work. If it doesnt take too much work to weld in the injector ports i could do it for others as well if they request it. Not sure if theres anyone else here that is going for that amount of power though. I guess we shall see

I am not sure honestly because its built for the 03 ions. They had a cable throttle body so the bolt pattern could be different. you may want to look into that if your interested in the SMS intake. I believe it was 04-05 when saturn switched to the DBW TB. IonNinja would know more then me since hes got one.

the bolt pattern for the TB is the same i think
