Hey, It sounds to me like the timing is off quite a bit. If its tuned and it still wants to die then the timing is off. Before you put the cams in did you rotate the crank by hand to top dead center and after you put the cams in did you align the cam gears in the right place????

Just as an FYI the stock chain tensioner can seize itself if you don't have the latest one.

If you pull it out and it has a green rubber ring that is the old style and can seize during normal use which would cause your chain to skip a tooth or just for the chain to slap around your front cover and sound like bad lifters.

Yeah the 78s are fine, a lot of us run them on aftermarket cams and I don't know of one person with any issues. I was the reason that kit now comes with seat locators due to concern over inner spring to seat/seal wear.

Thursday or Friday might work. Saturday I'll be at the track and Sunday I'll be at work.

I love how people on here think they know everything. Supertech's .547 lift is if they are installed at a NON stock height of 1.375, at stock height of 1.21" they can only handle .395 of lift. So I doubt you had a blank head with extra materal added to make up the difference. Here is a diagram of the supertech and some psi springs that I found to help explain it..

Now the supertech 76lb springs can handle up to .445 of lift at the stock ecotec spring height.

Well here is my vid's sorry for the quality it was on my cell phone. Only thing is when i turn off my car it feels like it just stalls out instead of like normal turn before cams, and you don't hear that drop of air from the intake anymore.

I love how people on here flame but are still incorrect, its just better when they copy pasta other incorrect information from other forums.

Valve spring installed height is 1.210 inch on non stock valves.

yea, timing is off, i knew that but the mechanic that was helping said it was fine n was mechanical on both cars. and yea we did the rotation of crank n held gears in place (cam gear tool) but may have gotten a tooth out on exhaust then the mechanic changed mikes (MP Cobalt) and that started his noises, my tmiing is the same as his (maybe a tooth or two off) but my car starts the same n it will idle on its own

We can shoot for as much as we have time for.

We will have to pull the front cover and re-time it that way.

Yup. Evo guys have problems with excessive valvetrain noise because they don't bleed there lifteres.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKX2pYVO0Ak Theres a video on how to do it on the 4G63.

i talked to supertech, they said that with 78lb springs installed w/o any head modifications it will handle .540 lift
