stg2 cam question
Are there any people running stg 2 cams without ferrara valve springs( or any aftermarket)
What safety percausions can be used for them or do they run fine with a tune

I'm almost certain that for stg 2 you need to at least upgrade the springs, but while you're in it you might as well upgrade to some supertech or the ecotec stainless valves. TTR has a good price, as does allecotec.com

Stage 1 is fine with stock valvetrain. You could probably get away with not upgrading with stage 2, but just remember you'd be at an elevated risk for failure in the springs. Some people have run stg 2 on stock valves/springs no problem, it's up to you really.
I recommend supertech valve springs at TTR ($369.00) and a set of stainless valves (~200).
Of course, that's assuming you do it yourself. Any shop would rip you big time on labor.

A shop will be very expensive to install those upgrades. Several hours work at whatever $$ they charge per hour...add it up.
The cam install itself is usually billed as a 3 hour job. Combine that with all the extra work upgrading the valvetrain and your install bill goes through the roof

You do not need springs or valves to run STG 2 cams!!!!!
The coil compresses with the min of .060. now it will wear them out a little faster. I have stage 1 cams and i have 4,890 miles with stock valvetrain.
