all you would really have to do for some basic tuning is use a fuel pressure regulator, just hook it inline and that would be good for prolly up to 5 psi, you would just have to make the parts yourself which isnt that hard at all, just time consuming

When you get an Adjustable Fuel Pressure regulator and you just "turn it up", you're turning up your base fuel pressure which will turn up your pressure all the time, not just when you're at 5 PSI of boost. This is why they invented FMUs where they turn up the fuel pressure DURING boost and not at idle or in vacuum. Buying an adjustable regulator and just turning it up can result in terrible gas mileage, improper tuning, flooding of the motor, bad idling...the list goes on.
