stock tb size

anyone know the exact measurement on the 2.2 tb size? i took a tape measure to mine earlier and got 69mm on it....is this right?

no, thats totally wrong, you measured it from metal to metal. You have to measure from one end of the actuall throttle plate to the other.

I don't know the exact size but I'm thinking 48 ish mm.

maybe at the plate if that, I want to say it's 52-55mm though at stock bore.

mine is ported out now to about 68mm. I think your original attempt at measureing was off.

Well when I still had my 2.2 we compared the TB to that of the 90mm GTO's and the cobalt's was roughly half so I'm going to have to go with 45 - 48 mm stock although I could be wrong

I didn't just throw out 48mm at random, I have taken a measuring tape to it, but of course I was just guestimating.

well after tonight the tb is nowhere near stock size i ported it out tonight...ill be taking pics tomorrow and let everyone know if there is any throttle response difference

I know on the 2.2 ECOTECs on the J-body platform they are about 58 MM...doubt GM would change the actual size, so it might be the same.

i tested the ported tb today seen a difference in throttle response..not much but for a free mod to me it was worth it

yeah NJ I think that's it, I know I couild fit my old SC2's TB inside of it and that had an OD of 55 or 56mm

Does anybody know of any aftermarket companies that make larger throttle bodies for the Cobalt.
