ummm straight ppe as you hear the term. is simply your entire exhaust system. minus a muffler resonator and Cat...so its just piping for your exhuast. if your lucky you can find a cheap ass exhaust shop that will do it for cash and bend up sum pipe to fit. then weld it all on. Gl tho its illegal w/o a cat or muffler ;(

Watch the size of the pipes.. If your all stock that much free flow will hurt you..

any muffler/exhaust shop should be able to do straight pipes for you. but good luck being able to live with the sound, the gains won't be that big vs. a hi flow cat and hi flow muffler. the noise however will be really, really bad.

It'll be loud, and not good straight pipe LS1 loud.. like civic loud lol. Your best best is an aftermarket performance exhaust or just get a custom straight pipe with a good resonator or high flow muffler.

straight pipes only sounds good on v8, turbo cars , rotary engines....plus on the balt you need the back pressure so stick with one of aftermarket exhaust system....or do what most people do, vibrant header/dp and vibrant exhaust

if you wanna go staight pipe, try gettin the pacesetter header or the obx, and get the dp from exhaust depot, their dp has no cat, and has a resonator biult onto the dp to try and make it quiter, and keep the resonator from the catback, hell maybe even have a shop throw in another resonator, to quiet it down some more, i have a obx header, and megan exhaust, sounds great, not to loud, and not to quiet

is the vibrant 3"? thats ok, but you loose low end power. it's alright on turbo/sc's.

i pretty much have what Jn2 has, we think it's good. i have a highflow cat right after the flang thats right at the end of the header.

anyone know why my collant is sitting lower than before? used to be 88-89c . now when i drive around it's at like 76c.

hey jn2, since we got such a close set-up. let me ask you something.
does yours make a crackle sound when it's a bit cold? i can't drive it hard untill i have driven for 10 min or it doesn this.

and are you worried about cracks or leaks? if so how can i check just put my hand in the middle of the pipes? will i really feel it coming out?

thnx

It sounds like you have the same problem as me. I can't drive the car hard when it's cold because all I can hear when WOT'ing it is the exhaust sound and massive amount of ticking. I'm pretty sure it's a bad seal around the DP and that once it warms up everything expands and seals properly.

yah, i dunno what it is. I don't care just when i try to rip it at the start it sounds like crap. But also when i first start to drive the clutch catch's weird and stronger. But once that warms up it's all good aswell.

I just wanna find out why my coolant is so low (the temp). It's weird, but meh, isn't higher temp worse?

My coolant varies' between 83degs and 89 when driving normally. In stop and go traffic I've seen it go as high as 109 before.
