well the only other good option I know of is the smt-7. But I'd go with the aem. It's just a better system IMO

i dont know much about the smt-7 but the smt-6 adds a 5th injector and blows the fuel through the plastic manifold for a posible back fire explotion. I have the AEM f/ic on board the ship right now. If i can get my IT's to give me rights to uploading pictures ill try to take screen shots of the AEM tuning software and stuff. I've already got it set up to make the 60 lb injectors opperate like they were the factory injectors. That will be my starting point for tuning it for the boost. I have a friend back in VA that understands the whole tuning thing and he is walking me through it right now.

OMFG!!!!!!!! i cant believe it. the navy just uppped FC's and ET's re-enlistment bonus. And right now im in a tax free zone and i'll be re-enlisting in a few weeks under the new bonus. DRUMMMM ROOLLLLL PLEASEE.
The navy upped it to 6.0 mulitply and new cap of 75,000. NC1 submited my new paper work today and i hit the 75k cap. CAN YOU SAY COBALT WILL BE DONE paint, new body kit, turbo and all when i get back

lucky you man. lotta money to throw around now huh?? mind having ur uncle set me up with one of those STS turbo kits when u get back lol. let me know how much it all comes out to be. interested on the AEM/fic ur using. so update me on that for tuneing as well.
ive been bouncing off the idea of the Megasquirt system more because its more control.

Ive been messing with the AEM fic a little bit. I got a formula from someone on how to convert the lb rated injectors to CC's. I have a basic tune alread made to swap out with the 42lb injectors and make them run like stock injectors. After that all i have to do is hook up a stand alone wide band and then tune it as i drive the car under boost. the AEM has a built in MAP sensor and comes with vacume line so that it will measure the boost and the AEM computer will automaticly adjust the fuel curve for when not under boost conditions and so forth.
You are right about the more control thing, but im happy with the AEM being pulse width controled w/ out setting off CEL's and being able to adjust the spark timing.

How come the STS turbo can put out so much power compared to the Garett turbo alpha kit? I think it only puts out like 190whp, compared to your 250hp...big diff consdiering its the same price.
Hows the lag by the way on the remote setup?

If you look at the rpm's they measure the garett kit at, it made 198whp @ 5000rpms. Theres still 1500rpms to build power. im sure it made over 200whp easily.

my 251 whp comes from straight up nitrous and a built motor. since you didnt read my sig and click on my garage to see what mods i have i will list them for starting with the nitrous kit
Dyno Tune 2 stage 125hp nitrous system
Egale forged rods
Wiesco forged pistons 8.9:1 compression
Comp Cams Stage 1 Cams
Ferrera valves and spring kit with titanium retainers
3 angle valve job on the head
honde cylinders
ARP head studs
Cometic Head gasket
ACL rod bearings
Fujita CAI
3A performance dual exhaust
Also if you read up on the sts turbos and go to streetfire or youtube and type in STS turbo installation you will see 2 videos that show you what makes them better then conventional turbo set ups.
w/ the sts set up combined with the nitrous ill be looking at laying down 390 to 415 whp
Also to answer your question about the alpha kit, its only tuned to 10 psi of boost for the 2.4L kits and tuned for 8 psi on the 2.2L kits. The STS turbo kit will be set up for 14psi on my 2.2L and im well awear of the psi blowing apart the plastic intake manifold, dont worry i have the covered got a metal on the way
