The blower would be a lot easier for him to install, the price is pretty reasonable also. It will probably fit but you should do a lot of research to be sure, the cobalt/ion will probably get a specific one out pretty soon if they don't already.

Well, one difference is that cavaliers with the ecotec have the speed density set-up where it uses the MAP sensor to detect vacuum inside the motor. Now the cobalts have a MAF sensor, you would have to make some modifications to make it work with that as well.

This is an OLD TOPIC. Please do a search before making new thread.
NO this supercharger WILL NOT WORK on the Cobalt.
The article in the build book is specifically for a J-body car.
The Cobalt uses a completely different fuel control system then the J-bodys, which is why the kit would not work. Additionally, some of the mounting hardware is different.
The Cobalt is getting its own kit, which has not yet been released.

i thought the build book was made around a cobalt and noted that most of the listed mods would also work on the j's...theres an easy way to find out for sure, call gm technical support.

The 250-400 build section applies to Ecotec engines in general, so both j-bodies and Deltas.

Also fits certain 2002 Cavalier and Sunfire equipped with Delphi fuel inejectors (<I assume that to mean injectors...).

Yes and No.
They are both great power adders.
The SC is a much simpler install.
Depending on what the goals are, a SC could be just as good if not better.
I personally agree with you that a Turbo is the better power adder most of the time, but the SC always must be considered as it has some fantastic proerties as well.

Where Can i find the Ecotec 2.2 Handbook online....? If i can make the supercharger worked on the 2002 Ecotec engines for the Cavalier, i can recommend this to my friend for future decisions.
Also,...Would the tranny need to be changed on the sunfire/cavalier or can it stay automatic.....?
