I'd get the supertech dual valves springs and keep the stock valves. Our stock valve should handle

well see i already ordered the supertech .5mm sized valves but i really wanted 1mm over for what im doing. i called supertech and they said that they can make 1mm ovr but they have 3 set minimum. so ive read about the hondas being able to use ferrea valves with the supertech set up

Yeah it should work, you just need to make sure your retainers and locks match your valves(unless youve got some crazy non stock length valve setup)

If anything upgrade the valves. The valve springs are not the greatest either, but they will suffice.

TTR has some great stainless valves for like 250. I can't quite convince myself to get those ferrera springs yet.

You need to make sure your retainers have the same number of grooves as your valves.

Just make sure that the cams do not coil bind the supertech springs. The install height is not what GM recommends, and the springs will not reach the .500 lift that supertech claims from there website using GM recommendations.

I'm not sure, the supertech upper retainer has a silly dished geometry just to try to get rid of the installed valve height issue.
Not sure how much clearance does it helps to gain, but may be a lot less worse than some are used to think

EDIT: Actually, it looks like the supertech kit comes with retainers. That's a plus.

just so you know, someone from Hahn had a sunfire with the 2.2L L61, making over 600hp and ran 10's

they used the stock L61 valves, so I think you are good with the stock valves, just my .02

They are good enought to handle the power with everything and the valve springs. now if he plans on boosting or nitrious id look for lsj valves or some company such as supertech or any good valve producer

yes i am boosting the car. i even have all my mods in my sig. lol. ya my rep who gets my parts personally knows the guys at supertech and asked them what they recomend for my application. the only thing i had to question was if i could basically use another companys valves with their set up. I wanted 1mm ovr sized and they only offered .5mm ovr. so thats the reason behind it all. the goal for the car is 650+

Why did you not just go with a GT42R? I know it would be peaky but not much more than the 35

Keep us updated with your build. I'm interested to see all that put together.

Take some pics when you do the build.
