Time to build for more boost...

Well the time has finally come. I officially started buying engine parts yesterday and more to come as i sell stuff and get paychecks from work. ill post progress and any changes that come along. for anyone the potentially follows this thread i'll eventually have my current turbo and manifold forsale. lol. If you have ANYTHING to add please say something. All work will be done myslef. i have access to all tools and info as i work at a GM dealer. The engine will be staying in the car. shooting for 400 WHP or more.

some background info, its a 2007 cobalt ls. Base as base could be. Turboed it in april with the k04 and a one off zzp manifold we made. dynoed 233 hp and 240 tq on 12 psi.

Build list:

Wiesco pistons >
Eagle rods > $800
ARP headstuds $135
GM head gasket
Super tech exhaust valves
Super tech intake valves
Clevite rod bearings $30
#82 ZZP valve springs W/titanium retainers $359
80's $180
Valve cover gasket
Intake mani. gasket
Exhaust mani. gasket
Front cover gasket
Timing chain
oil nozzle
timing tensioner
Timing tensioner bolt
Cam bolts
Crank pulley bolt
Walbro 255 fuel pump
water pump

Some things i will get along the way or after:
Turbonetics T04E 57mm
ZZP manifold
External wastegate
Meth injection
Intake manifold (metal)

Purchased:
Timing tensionor
Timing bolt
Cam bolts
Crank pulley bolt
Valve cover gasket
Intake mani. gasket
Exhaust mani. gasket
Front cover gasket
Timing chain
Oil nozzle
Water pump
Clevite rod bearings
TTR turbo manifold (lost in shipping)
Wiesco pistons*(9:1)
Eagle rods
#82 ZZP valve springs W/titanium retainers

Decided the future turbo as i can get a really good deal on it and it fits the bill perfectly for the power i want.

depending on your goals you might want to reconsisder stock compression. Just a thought, I understand where your coming from. And also would consider a oil pan from powell, the 2.2 pans aren't the best.

I have to go with Wiesco now due to je stopped production of what i wanted. i also switched to #75 super tech springs as they don't require machining and are better steel. also bought a water pump at work today. so all oem parts are accounted for (i think). IF i have a enough i will be purchasing pistons tommrrow
