Take out old tensioner slowly, put in new tensioner with the slot facing up and down. Ta-Da! Seriously it's easy. You can take the valve cover off if you want to to make sure timing doesn't jump but not really necessary.

def take off your valve cover it takes no time, and u can watch and make sure the notch on the tensioner sits into the seat on the chain guide. Hell for extra precaution i would take two zip ties and zip tie the chain to the cam gear sprockets tight so it cant jump timing. Although easy ive seen far too many **** this procedure up do it the right way

on the lap you cant use zip ties cuz the vvt actuators

but you should at least take off the valve cover, just remove it slowly. they tend to pop out at the end so watch out for that

yes but he is an lsj so hell be able to. also after installed, take a screw driver and smack the chain on the guide. That will set the tension on the new tensioner because they come in the depressed state

The new style tensioner is hydraulic and can't be set or released. All you have to do with it is thread it in and torque it to 55 ft lbs.

I believe the socket is 32mm or 1 1/4" in case you need to know.

Buy a second trans. I lost 3rd gear and almost 2nd also, the stock 5 speed does take a beating for a while though ill give it that.

Most likely. Easy way to tell is, does it slide apart and separate into two pieces, or is it one piece with a snap ring in the little space where the big and little piece come together? Two piece is old style (like the stock one). New style stays together and has the snap ring.

while the tensioner is hydraulic, it can still and should be manually set after installed. And L61 or not u dont have vvt so u can do the zipties as well

You dont really need a LSD just get a good set of coilovers. I can almost hook 2nd on stock tires the way mines setup.

A cheaper option, that works fairly well is the Team Green LSD inserts. Fraction of the price of full replacement units.

How hard are LSD's to install and uninstall in the f23? If I buy one i dont want my next trans to take a dump at 20k again. Then id have to swap it into another junkyard 5 speed. 2nd gear is almost out and 3rd is all the way out currently. Is there a better option that i could use. I wouldnt mind spending 2k if it lasts.
