Tire Life of 15" Continentals

Hey everyone,

What is/has the tire life been so far on your stock 15" Continentals?

Currently, with around 14,000 miles, my front set is pretty bald and the back set is like-new. I originally rotated my tires and then last week Chevy put the bald ones back on front, and now I've rotated them back to the rear. I'm figuring I can get to 30,000 on these tires, tops.

Lastly, upon kicking the Continentals out the door, what tires did you get?

Thanks,

Cirrus

Mods: I know this should be in wheels and tires, but I'd figured it would get a lot more hits in the 2.2 section.

I never rotated my tires Almost 30k before the belts distorded, the continentals are scrap, they almost got me killed one day on the highway, I got fuzion hri's on now, $48 a piece on tirerack, 100 times better then the stock continentals.

I drive spiritedly at times, but definitely not all the time. Most of my driving is city, all stop go stop go stop go.

I'll check out the Fuzion HRIs in a bit

You must have an incredibly light foot to accomplish that

the contis are garbage. i have 18000 on my car and drive a little over the top sometimes. i also go to the track so i expected were but these things suck. just bought some cooper cobra GT these tires are so sticky. i love them. i n the rain you can almost dump the clutch and still get traction. and for us guys with no ABS.....you can actually stop. its great. i got them for 49 bucks a piece but i have an in at a tire place. i get them for cost

continentals are notoriously shitty tires...on small cars & big rigs(yes they make semi tires also)

im talking more about the traction issue, then tire life...but the more traction is an issue, the shorter the tire life...

For those of you with squealing problems, check the pressure. I've noticed they tend to loose pressure quicker than other tires. And, yes, they are mounted correctly. It is the tires, not the rim/valve stem.

Bought my car in August '05, has about 11k miles on it and the tires look like there about 1/4th worn out. My guestamation is about 30k ish. I did one burnout and it took tiny chunks out of the front tires. I plan on buying a better set when the time comes to replace them :P

When i first bought the car with 5 miles on it the tires would squeel.... its stupid. I have 10,100 miles on the car, havent had a chance to rotate the tires but the backs are like brand new and the fronts are about half way down. Finally got my compressor fixed and my 15's should be coming this week, throw them on before winter hits..... fresh shoes... but anyways.... the stock tires suck. Anyways here is a quick story, I had a buddy of mine in the passengers seat, and i was going around a 10mph turn, nice and dry, and the tires were squeelin bad and my buddy asks me how fast Im going and I tell him 35mph, he laughs and says i can take this same turn doin 110mph. Well he has a 06 Gt stang w/ pirellis and later that day we did 110mph thru that turn and i almost **** myself and the tires didnt squeel at all. Hes also takin that same turn doin 120mph in his srt-4... crazy shitt.....

later

i have 13,000 miles on my contis and they are at 6/32nds and 732nds, this means they should be bald in another 10,000 miles. I hate them though, horable wet and dry traction, snow isnt that bad however

mine squeeled from day one. they lasted just over 30000 miles then i switched to falken 512's. anything you switch to will be better. they were going for low cost with those tires. and i dont have abs and stop lots better. the contis would lock up at 30mph and the falkens dont lock up at all. they are directional tires.
