Which tires to get w/ stock rims + lowering springs?
Has the 16" Rims and I'm thinking about buying a set of new tires in advance, which ones should I go with? I would also like to get those Eibach lowering springs installed, I don't see a ton of wheel room now, how will the springs effect this?

i have owned two cobalts since i graduted from high school and i have had both of them lowered. the first one i put a 1.3/1.7 drop on thinking that i wouldnt have the room for anything bigger than 17s. when i fact i had to sell my 17s and get some 18s because the fender gap was huge. i recently totaled my first one and bought a brand new one. i have dropped this one 2.0/2.5 and i was going to be smart and measure the distance from the ground to the fender. i was somewhere are around 25.5 inches. so i went with the 17s because a rim and tire combo with a 215/40/17 is 24.4 inches tall. you could probably fit 18s with a drop like my most recent but im allowing for the springs settling after i run on them hoping the gap will recede after a while. hope this helps with your decision.

I'm running Bridgestone Potenza RE050A in the 225/50/16 size and they are fantastic. Far superior to the stock Pirellis. Oh, these also have the advantage that they're wider than the stocker's, but they are still within 1% diameter-wise so it doesn't throw your speedo off.
