as far as i know the 2.2 can still tune the transmission but youd have to find a shop that uses hp tuners to give it a shot. on just getting the pieces andnot the whole kit i know you can buy the smt6 alone and tune it yourself but the mainfold from alpine i think he is refusing to sell alone, he wants you to buy the whole kit but thats just what i heard.

Stock SS/SC's dyno more around 220 to 230 whp.

And a bump for TNT making some 2.2 power!

as for running with Evos I really dont think 206hp and 220 tq is going ot run with an AWD evo, maybe if he is a horrible driver. But who knows, i have a guy down here with a evo with few mods running 11's so who really knows these days with cars
that would be from a roll of course. while they run much quicker 1/4 mile times their trap speeds aren't anything that we can't accomplish.

This is great. Unfortunately I am one of those"lucky" cobalt owners with the SAI. Has Alpine discussed a way to solve this problem yet? If their is a way to get around it so I dont have CEL's it would be sick. Well it would be sick to have a 2.2 base with a turbo... for $4,000...

Anyone have any idea on what it might cost to have this installed? Never installed a turbo before and dont really want to risk it.

Everyone cross there fingers and hope it will work or something will work for the SAI.

if your handy with wrenches, the kit is pretty easy to do it yourself.

back in the day not knowing a damn thing about cars, but liking them...i installed a turbo kit.

its pretty self explanatory, an average kit will take you 20ish hours for your 1st time, so plan a weekend.

however, if you start in the am, you can finish at about 8pm, just intime to go cruise and smoke the doors off of some cars.

Just FYI to those who are wondering, The guy with the nickname "Speed Mafia" was closely involved in the development of the kit. So his testimonials are vouched for.
