to be honest, i can't drive above 50 mph on the highway in the rain. my cobalt hydroplanes constantly. it's messed up. i don't gun it or anything, and i drive in a straight line. i seriously hate these continentals.

and don't tell me it's just in my head, because i've gone off the road a few times because of it. i can't turn when it happens, and my brakes refuse to work when it happens. these are the worst tires i have ever used in my life.

i also have the traction problems while accelerating in the rain.

i need money for new tires, and quick.

and it definitly loses control in turns in the rain as well. going the posted speed limit through a turn, my car will periodically go sideways. yes, it is fun, but it sucks. this isn't a race car, so i don't want it to drift like that.

I guess, after reading these threads, I'm lucky, I have factory Pirellis on 16" rims. I have no wheel spin issues at all. I also have traction control, and a very heavy right foot.

I have the 15" continentals and I hate them as well. Wet traction is minimal, and if you dare hit the lines look out. Spun the car in a 540 a few weeks ago when I hit the center lines, luckily didn't hit the guardrail just spun out in the middle of the road. Anytime pulling out at a stop light and you hit the lines, wheels start spinning then hit pavement and WHAM. I HATE THESE TIRES

yes its your tires. I had the 15 inch steels with the conitinentals also. found a guy in the area who was selling his 16" alloys with pirrellis on them. Cornering, handling and traction all improved. Braking got a little better, but they still slid under slight aggressive braking. Any of you guys without the abs have this problem. I know if i stomp on the petal, of course theyll lock up. But what im talking about is ill push the brakes and then car will start slowing, and then all the sudden they start sliding.
