Yeah, just make sure you get one rated for a car, not one of those big mothers they put on trucks.
You can actually overcool the fluid, which would definitely not be good obviously.

Well, it's pretty simple really. There's two lines on your transmission that lead to the radiator. One is hot that is coming out, and the other is coming from the radiator that it leading cool fluid back to the tranny.
Basically, you just cut the line coming out of the radiator, add a barbed adapter and run the hose to either side of the transmission cooler, other end comes out of the cooler, and goes to the return hose with a barbed adapter. You'll need some 5/8 hose barbed adapters and rad clamps.

I honestly don't know if you will notice a performance in the auto transmission shifting, but it should be a good buy regardless, also I am not sure if you ever changed your transmission fluid, but I would recommend doing that before installing the transmission cooler.

only thing that has been neglected on this 71k mile bitch is the rear drums. and yes i'm paying for it now. no noise or problems but they didn't wanna come off so i gotta get a new set and break these f**kers off somehow.
i want my trans to last....**** i want the damn car to last it's gonna be my dd come next year but that don't mean she won't be driven hard.
here's what i've done
trans was flushed @ 56k, radiator flushed @ 45k with new thermostat install, complete fuel system cleaning @ 60k (not the inj crap), plugs changed 3x, rotors and pads changed 2x and i just replaced that shitty ass fuel filter @ 69k and got 3mpg back.....**** gm and their 100k reccomendation on that ****.
i have only used snythetic oil...Amsoil pwns all. I love this little cobalt.

You should be fine then, you might have to use a sledgehammer to knock the rear drums off,I may be able to help with that,I believe my brother has a sledgehammer,I will ask him if he has one still.
