the tune is not perfect when you get it, i think you get a week to datalogg, and report back to have adjustments made, so it can be as good as you can logg...so far i think the n/a tunes are pretty set, as far a f/i its still being worked on, i know i called vince and was told he was waiting the XXcobaltXX guy to get his done...so im watching that guys thread closely waiting for soem results

well dataloggin is recording everything when the car is running, its helpful when tuning, or what you can do is just go to a dyno and get a a/f dyno run, you should be able to just use that, but those with f/i on their minds, datalogging is a must if you want the tune to be as perfect as it can get

Yes, excellent question....In fact the 07 ECU/TCM has been cracked, Vince got a car and tuned it. The 07 Tuning should be available sometime in the next few weeks.
Also, there is another way for a tune aside from him sending the GT Tuner to you...he successfully tested a cable/software driven platform last week for an 07 Impala SS which he will be writing software for to support the Cobalts (all models). That will run about 250 dollars or so. Basically what he does there is sends you the cable (usb to obd2) and the software. Then he can email tunes to you on the spot, about 3 maybe 4 tunes at a time.
Hopefully when i email him today he will tell me the progress made on the 07 tune (will all stock components) then he will be writing a tune for the 07 2.2 with the 2.4 manifold installed and be sending me a beta version on the dyno here.
So hopefully that answered some of your questions.
Oh and right now, there is a tune for the 2.4 TB on the 05-06, the 2.4 TB may/may not work on the 07 cobalts right now as there is no tune available yet for that.
Stock to stock swap of the 2.2TB and 2.4TB will not work as it will fire off codes at you and throw your car into limp mode. So don't try it without the tune in your hand.

But atleast people are starting to crack it open a little. I remember not to long ago when everyone kept saying there would be no tuning available ever for our motors....so I guess its a start and better then nothing! HPT will eventually catch on

Yea, HPT refused to make a tune for our engines. Vince of Trifecta has been the only one to crack it so far...and its not a "canned" tune. Its fully custom. My tune is different from the next persons tune. Its not just programmed and sent out. He works with you and makes it for your car in particular. He's working on a few turbo'd 2.2's and he just got done with the tcu tune. I doubt HPT will ever release a 2.2 tune.

this is the response i got back about 2 weeks ago.
No further developement at this point, we have hired 2 new engineers to help add support & parameters for current and other pcm's but E37 2.2 support will come before the older E16 2.2's.
